Within the project “Short cut: my mind, my film” students of the 3rd GT grade, a geodetic technician, will participate in the shooting workshop at Pula Youth Centre and on city streets.
The workshop will be led by Jakov Benčić, a university graduate of film and television directing and student and photographer Armin Kadrić. Through structured tasks, students will practice the technique of recording with their own mobile phones, develop the ability to perceive and explore how to turn everyday scenes into film material.
The first task of the “Color Hunt” will encourage them to observe the city more carefully: looking for the given colors, they will choose motives, explore the composition of the frame and notice details that are often neglected in everyday passing.
The next task will be to connect the film work with the previous workshop - students will explore how to express the feeling with a picture and what scenes, movements and relationships in the frame can convey a certain experience.
In the final task, students will interview passers-by about three thematic units: love and interpersonal relations; life of young people in Pula; and success, finances and career choice.
The project interdisciplinaryly connects personal development and empowerment of young people with creative expression and creation of authorial film stories. The collected shots and talks will serve as material for further work and editing, through which students will shape their own film view of the topics they consider important.
The project “Short Cut: My Mind, My Film” is implemented by the Association for the Development of Personal, Organizational and Social Potentials “Rhythm of Growth”, with funds approved at the Public Call for the Promotion of Youth Creativity in the Field of Culture and Art of Istria County Region Istriana for 2026.
